ACKNOWLEDGE – Walking is Good!

Fresh air and a brisk walk in pleasant surroundings.


Today I ACKNOWLEDGED that I need to do more exercise. Apart from going to my weekly dance class, I do very little in the way of exercise these days. So, my intention is to start with walking – every day!

According to our NHS :

Regular exercise can boost your mood if you have depression, and it’s especially useful for people with mild to moderate depression.

“Any type of exercise is useful, as long as it suits you and you do enough of it,” says Dr Alan Cohen, a GP with a special interest in mental health.

“Exercise should be something you enjoy; otherwise, it will be hard to find the motivation to do it regularly.”

So, today, I walked with my partner around the beautiful Brockholes Conservation site for just about an hour and twenty minutes. It was a cold, cloudy afternoon with only a few peeps from the sun here and there, but I thoroughly enjoyed being outside.

We measured around 8000 steps, so tomorrow, I intend to IMPROVE on that if only by a few more steps or in a shorter period of time. Let’s just see how it goes.
